I made this comic in 2021 for the 'Served' anthology of comics about volunteer service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.

I drew on my visual experience In Costa Rica, and my husband's story from his time as a missionary in Bahia Brazil.

I created the comic completely using Procreate, and the Mercury brush and Kyle's Gouache Briar Brush.

The story is not set from any one view point, so reader can go through the comic several times from the perspective of each of the  missionaries and understand something a little different about the experience of being confronted by an armed and confused individual because of the individual perspectives.
